About

Garden Furniture by Mike Orgler started as a home improvement project in Huxley, Iowa in 1997. Our home at the time had a newly renovated wrap around front porch and needed a porch swing. I looked for photos online and liked the Adirondack furniture style, leading me to draw up plans and build the swing. It still swings today, 25 years later. I remember sitting on the porch one day with two Adirondack chairs and a car driving by before rolling down the window and asking, "Do you make those chairs?" I replied, "Yes." And suddenly the light bulb went off. "How much?" he asked, and that was over 300 pieces of furniture ago.

Chairs come unfinished in pine. Pine sets should be outdoor painted and kept under cover such as a covered porch. Green treated furniture can be stained to match a deck or allowed to turn grey and also water sealed. They act like your deck and some warping of boards can occur. Cedar is my favorite and it may become yours as well. These handle the extreme outdoor weather best. They have the smoothest finish and can be stained, sealed, or painted. Rain or shine, they last a long time.
All the furniture is glued and screwed with water proof glue. Custom finishes can be ordered as well as replacement parts (Arms, etc.)
